If anyone in the Bay Area is looking to DIY the addresses on their wedding invites, escorts cards, or needs some instruction in the art Caligraphy check out Atelier Gargoyle.
They are based in San Francisco, and do a workshop once a month. The next one is on Feb 23rd. (call 415-864-2928) They even provide the pens and ink for the lesson if you don't care to invest in the tools of the trade right away. They sell seals and wax as well if you want to give your invites that old world charm. I think I may go so that I can do the writing on my escort cards !
